Easington Locality Office
The success of the Age Concern Durham County's Easington
Locality is a result of the hard work and commitment of volunteers,
staff, our partnership agencies and of course local older
people.
Our aim is to improve the well being of all older people
across the locality through a variety of initiatives:
Ageing Well – Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
for the over 50’s
· Looking to improve your wellbeing through exercise?
Why not join one of the many gentle physical exercise activities
we
offer across the locality?
Please look at our events page to find if there is a group
near you.
In addition to our weekly activities, we also hold a number
of special health promotion events and taster sessions throughout
the
year. We also offer Lifelong Learning opportunities
through a range of short courses held in the community.
Representing the Older Person
· Through our User / Carer Consultation Programme Age
Concern aims to represent the views of the older person and
their carers.
· We actively seek the views of older people through
consultation events, focus groups, one-to-one interviews and
questionnaires.
· Age Concern is represented on a number of local planning
forums so that we can ensure the voice of older people is
heard and listened to.
Volunteers
Our volunteers are invaluable and without them we could not
deliver such a wide range of initiatives. Volunteers are recruited,
trained and supported to assist Age Concern in enhancing the
lives of local older people.
Age Concern Durham County's Easington Locality Office serves
all those over 5O's living within the District of Easington.
