offices around the county to ensure services are delivered

Our Locality Managers represent the Organisation at local
planning fora feeding in the views and needs of older people.
They are responsible for the co-ordination and management
of services at Locality level and lead on our User Consultation
Programme.
The Locality Development Workers based at our offices work
both alone and in partnership with others to deliver a wide
range of services at local level. These services currently
include:
- Information and advice.
- Support to Local Age Concern Groups and other older people's
groups. Assisting with the setting up of lunch clubs and
activity groups.
- Health promotion, Ageing Well and lifelong learning initiatives.
Community Safety Days.
- Keep Warm Keep Well Campaign & Energy days.
- Promotion of the Recall & Reminiscence Service (ReACT).
- Promotion of insurance services including the provision
of insurance surgeries.
- Volunteering Programme to include pro-active recruitment
including talks to pre retirement groups, church groups
etc, support, training and maintenance of volunteer support
network.
- User/Carer Consultation Programme seeking the views of
older people.
- Representing Age Concern & needs of older people at
strategic planning fora.
- Taking part in designated national campaigns - Age Concern
Week, Volunteers Week & Your Rights Week etc.
- Promotion of local services/activities/organisation through
the media
- And in some areas HandyVan.
