Site Help

The site has been designed to be viewed with a minimum high colour (16 bit) and resolution of 1024 x 768 and to use v5 browsers or higher. We do not use the Macromedia "Flash" and "Shockwave" plug-ins so that the site is more accessible.

If you prefer the text size to be larger or smaller, you can easily change this using your browser.

We have designed the site to be a portal to gain access to services within the Age Concern Durham County area.

We have tried to design the site so that you will be able to access any sub-section of the site within "2 clicks", and any page, within "3 clicks".

Some documents available on this Website are published in Adobe Acrobat's Portable Document Format (PDF).

The free Adobe Acrobat Reader allows you to view, navigate, and print PDF (Portable Document Format) files across all major computing platforms, this can be downloaded from the adobe website.

Alternative ways to view Adobe Acrobat documents

If your screen reader software (for example an audio-enabled web browser) is not compatible with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe provide a free online tool which converts the content of PDF files to a format which can be understood by most screen reader applications.

There is a link to the quick search box on the menu bar of each page. Type the words you want to search for in the box and press Return to search the whole website.

We have chosen not to include a full text search of every page, but rather to undertake a "keyword" search. We have assigned a number of "keywords" to each page which we hope will allow you to find things quickly.
